Why do they call a crush a crush?
Is it because your heart becomes crushed into a million pieces?
Is it because it feels as though a brick has crushed your skull, leaving you too stupid to say anything right?

Homework

Let me search inside my brain
and find some words to describe
that eight-letter, two-syllable word
that gives off a very bad vibe.

Hours upon hours students sit at their desks
Studying, memorizing, writing, reading.
Personally, I think homework was invented
at a Student Torturing Association meeting.

It's not bad enough that we sit all day
learning algebra, spelling, Peru.
At least now I can relax and--
oh, crap! I've still got homework to do!
